Very proud weekend for the Horan family and all at Na Fianna as John was inaugurated as Úachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael at GAA Annual Congress in Croke Park last Saturday. Every best wish to John and family for his term of office.

Weekend Results – Torthaí na deireadh seachtaine

Wins on Sunday for Senior and both Junior hurling teams. Inters drew and hard luck to our three Minor Football teams on Sunday’s first league outing. Good win for our U16A ladies on front pitch against Ballyboden on Sunday.

Congrats to Jonny Cooper and Dublin’s Senior footballers and also to Leah Caffrey, Lucy Collins and Dublin’s Senior Ladies on last Saturday night’s double header wins against Mayo in Castlebar. Also to Roisín Baker, Arlene Cushen, Alex Griffin, Eve O’Brien, Zoe O’Donoghue and Dublin’s Senior Camogie team on Saturday’s win against Clare.

Congrats to Niamh Gleeson, Niamh Rock and Dublin’s Premier Juniors on their win against Kildare and also to Orla Gray and Dublin’s Minors against Wexford.

Hard luck to Shane Barrett and Dublin’s Senior hurlers losing to Galway on Sunday.

Hard luck to Donal Burke, Colin Currie, Paul O’Dea and DCU Dochas Eireann in last Saturday’s Fitzgibbon Cup final against UL.

Mixed fortunes for our Meadhbh Ní Dálaigh in Sunday’s USHA Open Collegiate finals in Missouri, lost the singles 4 and 7 but won the doubles 7 and 2 – fantastic achievement to have made it so far.

Fixtures – Liosta na gcluichí

Adult football next Sunday with Senior1’s against St Brigids in Collinstown  and Senior2’s away against St Annes, both at 10.15am. Both Junior teams in Collinstown at 12 with A’s playing Round Towers Lusk and C’s against Portobello. AFL10’s away against St Brendans at 12.30. Both Minor Hurling teams away at 11, A’s play Plunketts and B’s against St Peregrines. All three Minor Ladies football teams play on Saturday at 3pm, A’s in Mobhi Road against Parnells, B’s away against St Pats Donabate and C’s play Ballyboden in Collinstown. Best of luck to all teams, support welcome.

Other News – Rudaí eile

Draíocht Players return to Na Fianna for their annual visit on Thursday 1st March at 8pm with The Plough and The Stars. Tickets €10 available from Ann Ryan or club office, a must see for any Leaving Cert household.

Tickets on sale from the Helix and club bar for Na Fianna Sports Forum in the Helix Friday 9th March. Serious panel of sports stars and raffle on the night for terrific prizes and all in aid of Na Fianna, please support.

Na Fianna’s Operation Transformation continues every Monday night at 7pm, all welcome.

A brand new club initiative, Na Fianna Connects, will hold its first interactive talk on March 2nd, 7.30pm in the club. The first night’s guest will be Oisin McConville who will share his own story with us and entry is free to all members.
