Hard luck to our senior footballers who were beaten by defending champions St Vincent’s in the championship last Thursday following a closely contested match. The team’s focus will now switch to the AFL1 campaign. Better news for the other teams remaining in their championships. The Inters had a convincing win against St Vincent’s. The Juniors advanced in the ‘A’ championship after a thrilling extra time victory against Kilmacud Crokes. Well done also to the juniors in the ‘D’ championship after a big win against Templeogue Synge St. In League action, the AFL8 team lost out late in the game against Portobello by a single point. In the minor hurling leagues, there were good wins in Div 1 against Lucan Sarsfields and in Division 3 against St Maur’s. Congrats to Sean Currie, Micheal Murphy, Kevin Burke and the Dublin minor hurlers on advancing to the Leinster final following a semi final win against Wexford. The big match this week will be the senior ladies opening their football championship campaign on Wednesday in St Mobhi Rd against Fingallians. Best wishes also to senior Camogie on Tuesday at home in League against St Jude’s. Senior 6 are also at home Tuesday v Nh Barrog. Senior 2 away on Thursday to Clanna Gael. Junior ‘D’ ladies football away in Cup action to Fingal Ravens on Wednesday. All four adult hurling teams are away next weekend with seniors in Cuala, Inters in St Vincent’s and both junior teams away to Castleknock and Whitehall Colmcille. Please see club website for all fixture details. Congrats to Karen O’Connell and the Dublin U16 footballers on winning the Leinster final against Meath.
